i would reccomend configuring a model through HP or Dell or Sony or whoever. it usualy is a better good point and you get simply what you want.
My daughter got a laptop for her birthday. She get a E-system from Curry, was lb340, but she pay packet a little extra ess e.ct.
HDD 40 GB
RAM 512MB
LCD 14.1XGA
DVD+/-RW compact disc
CPU 1.6HZ
It got a righteous size screen too. Wirless too.
i would recommend getting an acer laptop. dance to www.shopacer.co.uk
they have adjectives the acer range and you can choose which laptop that is to say suited to your needs. you may want a laptop for gaming to some extent than normal browsing, work etc. and they hold all kind suited to different requirements. plus acer are much cheaper than sony or hp. it's upto you if you want style over substance then a sony vaio is categorically for you. im not here to promote acer, just giving my feelings.

I just bought an Acer 3692 for lb400 from Comet. None gone but you could look at www.ebuyer.co.uk. Friend at work just bought an hp from them and they deliver next light of day.
My Acer has 15.4" peak, 1 gb ram, 60 see hard drive, dual cloak dvd re-writer, wireless, 4 usb ports, S video, 1.73ghz processor, Intel 950GMA 224mb graphics. Fantastic machine for lb400 and it doesn't own all the crap software that you don't inevitability. It also has free upgrade to VISTA. Please entry that if you are buying any machine beside intel graphics it has to be the 950GMA as otherwise it won't run properly. Don't believe me later ring Intel yourself and ask them. I did.
Don't buy a dell (rubbish support in uk), or packard bell (rubbish within general), advent (they just packard bell produced for dixons, currys and notebook world or e machines/systems. They just cheap. If you want my spec but near dual core look at www.comet.co.uk. They have an Acer on in attendance for lb499. Collect in store or return with their faster delivery service. If it doesn't arrive in good time they refund you the conferral.
