Laptop cant read DVD's to burn??

Hey guys i enjoy a Dell Inspiron B130 that im pretty sure has a DVD-R/RW drive, but for some function I cant burn DVDs! The Laptop does not read the fresh DVD's i put in it, which are TDK DVD-R's. Whenever I try to burn something, it only says please insert a disk. Thanks guys i really really obligation help!

dance to 'my computer' then on the cd/dvd deity RIGHT click, go to properties and see if it's 'dvd-rw' if, it's only dvd read singular
it may be cd-rw dvd-rom will burn cd's but not dvd's
ok- if it is dvd-rw, then trade name sure that the burn dvd's is enabled, over on the 'recording' tab (again the properties window of the cd/dvd) check the box for see
u need to obtain a dvd rom to burn or watch dvds
