How can i fix my video card and/or eyeshade on my HP 17 inch laptop?

the blind just go blank it still loads up and is on but no screen it is blank.

First connect it to an external monitor to testing to see if the video card is still functional. More than likely your back-light on the LCD is going out. depending on the age of the laptop it may or may not be economical to fix. Contact HP or a HP reseller for info on peak replacement.
