This is always a tough interrogate to answer because it really depends on how much you want to spend. The more you are able to spend, the more "adjectives proof" you make your alien laptop. There are not that many laptops that are "bleak buys" so to speak. I'd stay away from the Vista installed ones until at least the first service pack is released. If you're a touchy feelie generous of person, after the stores are your best bet. Best Buy, Office Max, Circuit City et al. If you are more into the online adventures, then you will grasp a better deal but you lose out on the personal touches that a store give you along with the down time associated near a warrantee repair. I personally similar to the Toshiba and Dell laptop lines for the PC side. They do tend to get pricey, but it's worth it for the adjectives. Don't skimp on the extended service plan. just be sure you buy extra insurance to cover the other things that these service plans don't cover (like marine spilled over the keyboard).
