My thinkpad T23 is screwed. it be working in recent times fine and very soon it merely comes one and go blank, nought...?

Have you tried to boot in Safe-mode.this is done by repeatedly pressing F8 after pressing the power button to turn the computer on
It sounds approaching the hard drive may enjoy a problem. If you have the CD-ROM boot up disk (I don't consider the T23 has a floppy), see if it will boot from compact disc drive. If it does, try to access the hard drive.

When you mentioned boot command, I'm guessing that you could not boot to either floppy or cd. If this is the suitcase, you do have a problem. The system board itself may be destabilized, and yes the wireless card could have shorted it. Have you tried booting near out it? If it works after you remove it, reinstall it carefully. I would use a PCMCIA or USB card beside the T23, even though there is an upgrade for a interior card.
Usually if boot to removable medium drives is available, IBM's of that timeperiod show an animation of a floppy disk drive, asking for bootable disk. You are not getting that.
Also, if the hard drive is going discouraging it may "stick" in the attempt. Listen to your drive! Is it cur-clunking or have a high pitched whine? If so, your drive is more promising toast. (Although whine could just be spindle tumult...its only a business of time for full failure). A properly running drive should be quiet when not access data. If it is the rock-hard drive, they are easily replacable, but you lost your notes
