Question give or take a few my broke-down Toshiba laptop...?
Took it to the repair shop last year when this happen and they had to put contained by a new frozen drive because they said the drive was no longer household. Won't waste money on that again...
Anyways, very soon I want to sell it on craigslist for parts, but I'm wondering if nearby was still a means of access for people to verbs up personal information form the hard drive, even though I run the restore disk (does that wipe out the unyielding drive?).
And I never stored personal information on it, I just view webpages that had personal information, resembling online banking and e-mail, so I don't know if it be stored in the internet cache or anything.
But would it even be accessible anymore if the strong drive is fugged? Is it safe to put on the market for parts?

While the drive may not boot up... the NFO on it CAN still be accessable if connected as a Slave drive.
To be on the safe side, I would deal in it WITHOUT the hard drive.
only just remove the drive and sell it minus one.

You could use a file shredding program to clear the pattern caches or the entire contents of the drive
Since it appears that your laptop is not functional, the pro as it is would not be significantly impacted by the lack of a frozen disk drive.

most folks who buy laptops for parts hold their own means of getting HDDs and Operating Systems.
System Restore take your disk back to a pre-dated point so your information up to that set date would still remain.
I would whip it to a repair shop and ask if they could backup the infromation on your hard disk to another disk.
For the laptop as a adjectives, I've heard of places resembling Best Buy, etc that acutally provide scrap metal services where on earth they will take items such as copper, gold ingots, from computers and give you a share of how much it's adjectives worth. If Best Buy doens't provide that service, I'm sure you can find a place by where you live.
