Answer:
For Windows XP

Go into your Control Panel by first clicking on the Start Button.

Then click on the Control Panel deity located in the right column of the Start Menu.

If your Start Menu is set to the Classic View, consequently begin by clicking on the Start Button.

Then click on Settings, next click on the Control Panel icon to unequivocal up the Control Panel.

Now, Double click on the Sounds and Audio Devices icon until it open for you.

This will bring up the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window.

At the center of the peak is a white box next to Place volume statue in the taskbar.

To see the speaker icon, place a check easy target into the white box with your mouse.

To disable the speaker statue, simply remove the check mark from the white box.

Then click on the OK button to close the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties Window.

And later close the Control Panel to return back to your Windows session.
