How can i use again my built-in camera? Everytime i want to use it, a message " used by another application"

Each time i want to use my built contained by camera, a message "used by another application" comes out. As to what application is using my camera, this i dont know how to trace. I am using an ACER ASPIRE 5583WXMi. Can anybody help me please? Im an idiot beside computers....your help will be greatly appreciated.

Turn stale your Instant Messaging program, start the camera, turn instant messaging back on.
