Mac/PC Showdown?

I am contained by the market for a bright laptop for University in the slump, and I was wondering which is more reliable.
A Mac Book PRO, or a righteous ol' Microsoft Laptop.
Which in your view is better, and why

Mac Book PRO. You won't have to verbs about virus and it runs both OSX and Windows.
It's a toss up whether a PC is good or doomed to failure. On my computer at home I do not have an antivirus program and I do not hold any issues at other than the occasional adware or spyware program that seem to sneak on every know and then.
Realiability of a PC or MAC for that event just depends on the terminate users knowledge of a computer. I support 700 PC's at a university and typically they are reliable. I also support Macs at the University and they hold problems just as a PC would enjoy problems. I'm using a PC right now and it have been reliable for me. I also own a Mac Mini on my desk.
Reliability also depends on what you are willing to spend. The laptop to be precise $500, is $500 for a reason. Take eMachines. The computers that are strong to obtain parts for.
The problem is that PC vendor sometimes do not build reliability into the price where as Apple does on their three computer lines.
So a PC that costs matching as a MAC Book Pro can be as reliable.
Also keep contained by mind that you'll want to check with the university you are attending to see how an Apple system would fit it.
I use both for different applications so I cannot really choose one platform.
If you purchase a full edition of XP you can use Apple's Boot Camp to run both OSX and XP.
If you are fine with the learninbg curve and the Mac offer you what you need, be in motion with it. But preserve in mind in attendance may be some limitations.
I would check with the university you are attending to see if they hold Mac's on campus you can play around with and if in that is someone there that could answer your question before purchasing. This route you have adjectives your bases covered.
Also, you can probalby obtain an education discount through the university.
i enjoy a pc aswel and HATE IT! i dislike windows its extremely confusing and stupid on how much spyware and virus they get a hours of daylight (that may depend on your firewall program) im actualy buying a macbook once the new Mac OS X lepard comes out.
If you buy a hot microsoft pc/laptop i think you will regret it they voice that everyone that switches to mac stays on mac and i can see why, i went to a store the other afternoon and had a look at macbooks, inwardly 30 seconds of using it i have pretty much mastered using the program they have made it as most simple and unforced as humanly possible! i cant wait to go and get my macbook they make natural life so much stress free with no virus and easy peasy software plus extremely prompt :D

No one accidentally buys a Mac, my friend. I be in your position in the order of three years ago, then I bought my first Mac. I haven't looked wager on since. I'm now on my third Mac, a MacBook Pro. I surely love this machine. It's quick, reliable, secure and so comfortable to use. I haven't found a single thing this device can't do, and I'm in to seriously of different things. Also, keep surrounded by mind that Macs can run Windows natively, so you'll never be left out contained by the cold should you need Windows. I solitary use Windows to play PC-only games and that's it. Everything else is done on Mac OS X. You will not regret a Mac.
As lots have stated here, BOTH Mac & PC hold their sweet points, as well as limitations. Cost astute, you will find cheaper PC's out there, but if you are comparing a bottom ragnge PC to Bottom scale Mac, then the Mac will win, but will also cost you a heck of profoundly more.
I love Macs, started using one 10 years after PC, and picked it up fine, they are great multimedia systems, and do give you the route of running Windows using the paralel platform (with the right gear of course).
The majority of multi-media pro's use Macs, and there have to be a valid reason for this! You in recent times need to ask yourself what your requirements are. If you purely need a computer to type out assignments, surf the lattice etc, maybe stir for a PC, because you can get a original system for pretty cheap. If you want a multimedia monster, than I reccomend Mac. As far as I have hear, they also hold their value better (it is a computer though, and anything you get, it will be outdated in a few milliseconds of purchase)
