Windows Vista: Which is better, Clean install or only an Upgrade?

Now that Windows Vista will be released on January 30, 2007 I want to know which is better to do if I want my Laptop to own the Vista.. An upgrade or a clean install??

Answer:
Hold past its sell-by date on doing anything with it, at lowest possible for a few weeks. I've been beta trialling Vista Premium the last few months, and even the most recent "release candidate" have been a nightmare on my Dell desktop. Laptops other have more anomolies (strange graphics cards and drivers are some of the worst) and there's a strong liklihood that your laptop factory owner may not have Vista-ready drivers for everything you obligation.

If you absolutely insist on going near Vista from day one, do a verbs install. The upgrade usually works, but you can get like mad of driver issues that can cause plentifully of extra headaches.
Pissing on your sturdy drive while it is read/writing, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
A clean install is other the better option.

Any issues contained by your old OS can carry migrated across to the new OS.

Its also a apt way to go and get rid of all the crap and speed your tool up!
Clean Install is preferred as it reduces unnecessary memory loss due useless files.
I'd walk with the verbs install. Excellent opportunity to get rid of adjectives the stuff that builds up on a computer and slows it down. I format my hard drive and reinstall my operating system every two years. Amazing recovery in the speed of the computer.
same as answer 1
Read this back doing either.

here are some highlights from it.

"Amusingly, the Vista content protection docs right to be heard that it'll be left to
graphics chip manufacturer to differentiate their product based on
(deliberately degraded) video trait. This seems a bit resembling breaking the
legs of Olympic athletes and then rating them base on how fast they can
hobble on crutches. "

"In directive to prevent active attacks, device drivers are required to poll the
underlying hardware every 30ms to ensure that everything appears kosher. This
ability that even with zilch else happening within the system, a mass of assorted
drivers has to stir up thirty times a second just to ensure that... nil
continues to happen."

"On-board graphics create an second problem in that blocks of precious
content will completion up stored in system memory, from where on earth they could be paged to
disk. In demand to avoid this, Vista tags such page with a special protection
bit indicating that they want to be encrypted before human being paged out and
decrypted again after self paged contained by. Vista doesn't provide any other
pagefile encryption, and will quite vivaciously page banking PINs, credit card
details, private, personal background, and other sensitive information, in
plaintext. The content-protection requirements trade name it fairly clear that surrounded by
Microsoft's eyes a frame of premium content is worth more than (say) a user's
medical records or their bank PIN [Note K]."

Windows continuously gets worse and worse.
Id reccomend a varying of OS such as Linux =]
clean install is other better as it donst carry any files or registry items over, ive know a few upgrades of other microsoft operating systems to budge wrong.

allthough i would personally hang about till the service pack comes out for vista, as i have have some trobles with the beta journal, and ive had a problem witht the properl release edition as well
A verbs install is the best way to step, for example most people here or at smallest some of them have IE7 on their computer's and some of them complain something like this or that not working and other being blamed on a virus of some sort. this is because their download be an upgrade from IE6.
Now my download for IE7 was a verbs install as my previous IE6 was removed from my computer when I preformed a partial recouping and found that since the download there have not been any problems next to the software and runs very smoothly.
So other choose a full install instead of a upgrade.
clea because that way incase u enjoy any viruses on ur elder OS u can carry them on to ur contemporary OS.
just upgrade i did its best
