Why contained by a computer in that is no B drive , but near is A,C,D,E,F drives?

It be for floppy drives. Believe it or not I still have two floppy drives contained by one of my old computers (two different sizes) so I still enjoy A and B drives in accessory to the rest.
floppy drives went out years ago. But surrounded by cases where someone still have one, a b: is used.
Earlier there used to be a 'B' drive for 5-1/4 floppies. Now a days the 5-1/4 floppies are outmoded. That's why you are not finding 'B' drives in the unsullied computers. Soon you may not find even 'A' drives. The day will com when HD drives will occupy A drive.
B: is for the second floppy drive., but you can map any drive to B:
Its not that computers don't hold B drives. Initially (2 decades ago) personal computers did'nt have unyielding discs - they were equipped near two floppy drives called drives A and B. Later, a firm disk was introduced and be labelled as C drive.
Other drives close to CD drive, DVD drive, flash drive and others be labelled D, E etc. If you enjoy a computer having two floppy drives, afterwards they are called A drive and B drive.

Traditionally A & B drives be used for Floppy drives while C onwards went to firm discs, Optical disks , removable storage etc...

The advent of HDD's made multiple Floppies redundant.

believe it or not, i have used a computer that have NO hard drive. you have to boot from one floppy drive and work on your files/programs from the other floppy drive.
the b drive has remained unused for long, and immediately that floppy drives are all but extinct, even the 'a' drive seem to be disappearing. hope this helps.
its becoz when first home laptop were invented within were two drives A drive and B drive,after invention of concrete disks B drive r replaced by this one(hard disc) so from tht time B got vanished and c,D ,E,F r using as drives....

Drive names A and B are for floppy drives. Anytype (not necessarily assigned to 3.5 or 5.25) Even immediately, if your system has 2 Floppy drives you still enjoy it addressed as A and B
