It's not hard. Simply remove the upright from the laptop and clean it as capably as you can. I've had to do this for masses clients whose children have dumped anything from liquid, coke and even beer.

Call gateway and order a strange keyboard. Find somebody who know how to replace a laptop keyboard for that model and tolerate them do it. I would suggest Geek Squad, Firedog, etc. Or try it yourself. New keyboard should work though.
Keyboards are confidently replaceable, even on laptops! yay!
Unfortunately you will need to give the name gateway, so they can either:
A: distribute you a replacement keyboard (may be concrete to install for an unexperienced laptop hardware person) or
B: send within the laptop and get the baby grand replaced.
see if it dries out over a day or two, (which i doubt) the fluids enjoy probably burnt the chip, contact the manufacture and make an question.
not sure about towels but if you've spilled somehting on your laptop you shoudl try replacing the upright
I've had laptops soaking surrounded by all sorts of drinks brought to me - unfortunatley my lone advise is to not rest your drinks on your computer
