Battery statue not appering on toolbar?

i enjoy a compaq presario C500 and i just truned on my computer ant the mobile icon did not apper i tryed the trubleshooting article my compurter said to to but the buttun was not highlighted so i could not click it i entail this icon up because i other you my computer untell it is at 5 % left PLEASE ANSWER

I assume you be a sign of the power properties icon that generally sits in your system tray on the bottom right?

Odds are it is set to not show the god.
To fix this (on Win XP i assume):
Go to start ==>Control Panel ==>Performance and maintainence ==>Power Options.

If your are in classic display just turn straight to power options from the control panel.

Click the 'advanced' tab and sort sure the box is checked next to 'Always show deity on the taskbar'. Click Apply and that should remedy your problem.
click on the button << on your taskbar

or click start > settings > control panel > power options
see the show deity on taskbar checked?

or click right on your taskbar & select properties & see the check mark is on for power!
