How to install window xp?

I already hold windows xp service pack 2 surrounded by my laptop. As i feel my laptop works slower, i want to install window genuine xp(not service pack).. But while booting from window xp cd it shows an error report as "pci.sys file error. contact your hardware wholesaler or update bios" How can i install xp?

Answer:
Why would you think a service pack is not existent windows XP? You might want to turn upside down your laptop maker's web site to see if nearby is a BIOS update.
Why not try DSL linux instead? It goes one freak of seriously faster, smaller os, loads in 128 megs of strike, or on disk.
If you can run XP on the lappy, you could run DSL faster. Try it and see, burn it onto a CD or pen drive and you can run it lacking having to (gasp! the horror!) taking Windows sour. You can run the whole entity in RAM. And you could also download/and/or/upload files onto or from your desktop. Even salvage Windows files on the XP disk through the Linux. It's made for networking.

The pci.sys profile is for a desktop. laptops tend to have pcmcia bios, not pci or isa.
If you want the genuineXP files you can UPGRADE the service pack installation, the plain files and filesystem are the same. The difference is the number of features.

Did you know, when you run a Windows Install compact disc backwards it plays Satanic messages?

But when you play it forward it does something far more sinister... it installs Microsoft on your computer.

In a world withouts walls or fences, at hand would be no need for Gates and Windows.
the more modern xp discs come near sp2 already on them, it is not a good hypothesis to run a pc short sp2 as it deals beside security upgrades such as the firewall and indemnity centre, as far as bios i am not sure
