I want to wipe everyhing from my knees top and start again please lend a hand!?
Answer:
Because it was from your work, they probably installed Microsoft Office on in that for you, along with other programs you might close to and find handy. If you don't have the disks for these programs, consequently you will lose those also when you reinstall the operating system. Also, if you don't have a system disk for the operating system, resembling a Windows XP disk or a system disk that came next to the PC that installs a version of Windows, later you won't be able to install a strange operating system on it.
Here are your options:
If you enjoy the operating software disks and the software disks of the programs you like next you can wipe and reinstall everything.
If you just own the operating software disks, then you can wipe, but potential lose microsoft office and other programs that you may enjoy become accustomed to. Office is an expensive program that can cost from $250 - $500 dollars depending on the revision.
If you have neither, I would suggest that you jump back to your outdated job (if you are still on suitable terms near them) and ask the IT department to give you local administrator access. This will allow you full control access to the computer you are using. Only they would be capable of do this because the computer was set up originally for their meet people and their login should be able to work beside your laptop and they would have the right permissions to changeover these settings.
Just format the laptop/installing windows adjectives over again..
Insert the Windows Installation disk and boot from the CD/DVD ROM.. Follow the instructions and that's it..
Hope this helps & apposite luck,
Boot your laptop to the Operating System CD and reformat/reinstall from nearby.
You need to reset your laptop to factory settings, ie.reboot.
Before you do though, you inevitability to find out if it had window, (if that's what you run on), pre-installed when your company bought it. If it didn't then you would enjoy to buy a copy which could be quite expensive.
If it be pre-installed then when you reboot it will be on in that and that's about it. Then adjectives you would have to do is re-install the things you want.
You inevitability the original disc that came beside the computer. Just put it in and start the computer and follow the instructions for re-formatting the easier said than done drive. Not sure how to do it without the compact disc though.
Go to Start, then Programs, frills, control prompt...
This will bring up a box with the C:\ prompt.
Next to the C:\ type... format C:/s
That will format your C drive and make tracks the OS on there. I am assuming you want to save the operating system on the computer. Good Luck.
well im not a computer expert or anything, but here's a tip. freshly ask a computer engineer to hand you to reformat the lap top for you. after you will get the desired OS and programs you want.
