Ok so I get my brand new Laptop Hard drive today, its a Western Digital Scorpio Hard Drive...80 GB 5400 RPM...When I try to install the operating system it say Cannot Continue..Drive Not found.press F3.I need facilitate on what to do.The Laptop is a IBM ThinkPad T-30.Intel Pentium M Processor 2 GHZ ...My older frozen drive worked which was a 5.4 GB...on the armour of the older frozen drive it says IDE/Sata but the up to date one just say IDE.Can anybody tell me what I call for to do?.The computer also says I might want to run a diagnostic or something, but the only point the package come with be the hard drive.I get the Hard Drive from Newegg.com .Help me Please!..Thanx in mortgage.

Ok, first thing to do is to verify that the complex drive is really conected. You probably forced a PATA HD into a SATA connector, it is not a simple task but I know some family who have done it.
A PATA HD have a good amount of pins (about 20), a SATA HD have a flat connector (like PCI or EISA cards). See if the computer connector looks like an array of holes or a duo of slots.
I find quite unusual that a unknown HD is not recognized automatically, if the connector is fine, afterwards you may have some problem next to the MotherBoard or the HD. Taking a wild guess near the provided info, the MB could be damaged and your prehistoric HD may be still functional.
