How to initiate disc Rom drawer?

Is within a way to check if this is functioning properly, eg. using the Control Panel or some such other location on my computer?? This be a free computer so cant complain too much.

i'll go ahead and provide this a shot just motivation no one else answered: hope you find something better.

right click "my computer", budge to properties, then hardware, next device manager, afterwards cd/dvd-rom drives, double click the drive, then hit troubleshoot.

two ways...

1. Stick a tabloid clip in the small hole located on the front of your CDROM drive...purely below the door.

2. Double click on my computer, right click on CDROM...and click open compact disc

Also, the following may be worth a try. It's a program that open the CD-ROM drive in suitcase the button is in an inconvenient place. Hopefully it works.
