Which one of laptops is better? HP Pavilion AMD Turion 64x2 Dual core- or Acer Intel core TM 2 Due?

the hp... trust me. i own the hp pav amd tur 64x2 and its tight. i work in the computer dept. at staples and the amount of acers coming surrounded by for repair vs. the amount of hps is ridiculous. acer gets their hardware from adjectives over the place, and its not spectacular. get the hp.

The HP, acer make crappy laptops. Plus it has an AMD chip wich is unflawed for gamming :)
AMD chip-based computers usually cost less anyway so you accumulate a buck or two to buy CD's and stuff :)
I would personally step for the Acer...mostly because I am not a big fan of HP. They get better printers than they do PCs. Plus I absolutely abominate Compaq computers, and now that they are owned by HP I will never buy one. And I resembling Intel better than AMD as far as CPUs are concerned.
Going by name alone...the HP.
Acer is one of those companies next to which you either enjoy a great experience, or a horrible experience...except their LCD panels / monitors, which are fundamentally reliable.
Generally speaking, the AMD dual is better, although one of Intel's chips appears to be the next "big" piece if you're into overclocking. A friend is benchmarking his system with a alien $400 Intel core duo that when overclocked to 3+GHz beats the snot out of a $1200 chip.
It depends on the specifications of the laptop. Try checking first the size of complex drive, video, and its memory. but I think HP is better because I use HP Pav dv9000z and it works pious.
Both pretty much have pitfalls. The ACER will come formatted contained by FAT32, so that's always a big refusal. The coreduo (not the core2!) and the turion X2 are cpmparible, with maybe the intel chip being a shade faster Of the two, I'd capture the HP. They have a perfect warranty (up it to three years, seriously) and will fix most machines locally.
