Where is my D: drive?

If I can't find the D: drive on a Dell Latitude laptop, where on earth could it be? I've searched the C: drive, and it's not near. The laptop is a little outmoded and used. Help!!

Answer:
The D: drive is usually a partition on the knotty drive that is created at the time the operating system is installed. Some elder laptops don't have that divider because it wasn't needed. Most new laptops hold a D: partition because operating systems similar to windows XP sometimes use that space as the location for backup and restore points.

What do you need the D: drive for?
Are you referring to the DVD or compact disc drive? If you can't find it, it might be a faulty dvd rom drive, try sending it for repairs
possibly you didn't have one

or you hide it

is the d: the cd rom?
You can find it in my computer. D: & the post after it are generally reserved for virtual/physical drives > if the drive is out it doesn't exist to the computer. So if you do not have the removable cd/dvd contained by or removable floppy drive it won't show up.
