Answer:
There is a Laptop to IDE Hard Drive Adapter available at http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?ca... You can remove the hard drive from the laptop and install it on your PC using this connector (read the instructions that come near it). You can then install Windows on that drive. Once Windows is installed, embezzle the drive back out of the PC and put it put a bet on in the laptop. When you first start the laptop next to the new HD, it will find different devices and install most, if not adjectives, of the necessary drivers. You may be required to provide a compact disc to install some of the drivers. But if you can get on the Internet, you can also scour for and download the drivers for your hardware. If you have a drivers compact disc that came beside the laptop, you might want to try copying the drivers off the disc and onto the laptop HD while it's installed in the PC. A few follow-up:

This isn't an overly easy chore, so make sure you're up to it.

The adapter is roughly $10.00 plus duty and S&H

You'll need a valid Windows installation disc for your laptop.

(YOU MUST PARTITION AND FORMAT THE DRIVE IN THE LAPTOP)
Your chances are slim and none! Most PC manufacturer all enjoy OEM software versions and they WONT run on any other PC than that fastidious make and model!
you entail to look more into this but i think here is an option to boot a laptop from a introduce yourself drive. if your laptop and pc have a network card hook them up beside a cable...
You will have to buy an external usb unyielding drive, or better a NEW CD/DVD drive!
If you take the laptop intricate drive out and install in your PC, the software will detect your PC hardware and not the laptop!
CHECK THE BIOS SETTINGS on your laptop!
Windows, (ALL VERSIONS), are licenced to ONE computer, so by trying to use the SAME on both, you are breaking the copyright!
I believe your question is, "Can you install Windows on a laptop, using a cd designed for a desktop?"
There are 2 types of Windows CD's. Microsoft Windows CD's, would install on any a desktop or laptop, with no differences. The other is an OEM compact disc, which was made by HP, for example, that contains Windows, and will also enjoy drivers for the particualr Desktop it was designed for. Those will generally only install on the computer for which it be designed.
i think this is really too knotty and even some expert answer this there are masses pitfals and in the shield of laptop it is better to be safe later sorry , cause my friend have crashed the hard disc so does his pocket so you should a bit go to some expert friend or jump to company. This is my suggestion don't take it for granted, i freshly hope this may help you.
Your BEST substitute is to take it to a local computer shop, grasp them to do it for you (around lb30?) Then ask them about External compact disc Drive, ask them if it will boot from CD even though its on USB..
You could try booting from a W98 floppy bootdisk.

compact disc drivers included (mscdex.exe), so this might be enough to capture your CD drive working. I can't remember if nearby is USB support.

You could also try a WinXP boot floppy. Download it and create 6 disks. (Takes ages to boot - hundreds of drivers).
