Typically, Microsoft releases it's software full of bugs, afterwards puts out updates to correct those. The service pack is a compilation of several corrections. Microsoft has done this for years, support to DOS 3.0. They let the paying public do their debug for them all the while touting how cool their exotic stuff is.
I personally don't use any of their products until they've be out for a year or more.
It would simply be a Windows Update file.
I hold vista too. It's just a profile with updates on it..simple!
its because they rushed it out it wasnt pretty right yet so as it get used bugs appear that why window transport an error report when it crashes these are all the fixes to prearranged problems ,its an update
This is just one of Microsoft's repair kit for what they didn't do correctly in the first place. Don't install it right now, wait at smallest about six weeks to see if others own had problems and how they (or Microsoft) get around them.
We are paying top money for Vista basic,home premium and classic edition,but where really beta trialling Vista, the service packs are a moment ago fixes for bugs in Vista,as every time an error happen or problem arises,your computer automatically sends a report to Microsoft,Just click windows, programs,continuation than click problem reports and solutions to see what has be sent to Microsoft.Than Microsoft use this information to find a solution and usually an update fix.

It's typical that Microsoft (they're the worst offenders) release software that barely covers the nuts and bolts.
You've already mentioned that you have not have 'too many problems' but you've have problems nonetheless.
This is just retrospective reprogramming of damaged software to allow certain things to work beneath Vista and patch the security issues that enjoy come to light.
Ideally, Microsoft should be sued underneath the Trades Description Act as their product does not perform as advertise or stated.
