press fn button on keyboard....immediately press the button which has a picture of the sun and a down arrow contained by grey...or use the control panel...
one of the Function keys at the top of your upright may control the brightness. Press the Fn button at the bottom of the keyboard and press the F-key that looks approaching a down arrow, and if you have software that controls power profiles you may know how to set the brightness to be always at a lower horizontal, unless you change it put a bet on.
Look at your keyboard first. If you see anything resembling a sun or a wishy-washy bulb, then you should be capable of change the brighness using that switch (probably in combination to a Fn knob or something similar).
Hold the Fn key down (like next to shift) and press the "sun" key. Your brightness should rearrange. Note that there will probably be two separate key for increasing and decreasing brightness.
