From the sounds of your query, it seems you base your knowledge on the sticker on the laptop. Depending on where on earth you have bought/are buying it from, it may not even hold a Celeron inside. If you're not buying from a well-known outlet, put together sure that it does at least enjoy the processor it claims to by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties. I know someone who be caught-out by a misleading sticker! :)

With that out the way...
As everyone else as said, the Celeron isn't the best processor contained by the world. It's out-dated now. It also depends on the speed of the processor.

If adjectives you plan on using your laptop for is browsing the web, typing a few documents (in anything bar Office 2007) and maybe listen to music then you probably won't own any problems, but don't expect to be able to do any video editing, Photoshopping, gaming or intensive multi-tasking.
Celeron is a munificent of budget version of the Pentium processor. Not as powerful as the Pentium.
The Celeron is the poorest excuse ever developed by Intel. Now that you know how I grain about them, it is a standard processor beside the on-board cache either greatly stifle or in some cases disabled because of part of manufacturing problems. I own never recommended anyone purchase a computer with a Celeron for any purpose unless used as a pure wallet server.
The celeron processor is indeed a cheaper version of a pentium chip. This does not be a sign of it will give poor rite, I would suspect most people who use laptops are "over rated" when it comes to hardware anyway. It may run a bit slower when using multiple applications.
Yep, Phobius is right. The Celeron is unsophisticatedly a budget processor. They're not necessarily bad or anything, but if I be you, I'd go for a Pentium M at the impressively least. Or Core Duo if you can afford it. :)
It's antediluvian technology , don't touch it unless you can't afford more up to date kit.
that will be the proscessor depends on what speed and what you want to do on laptop ,if its only just to connect to internet and surf then it does not realy concern but if you want to play games ,burn cds& dvds then its better to return with higher speed processor such as 2gig or above .also reflect about how much knock against is fitted go for over 1 see.it depends on budget hope this is not to overwealming
The Celeron is the budget model CPU from Intel, not bad for the brass tacks.
