Which memory module should I remove?
Answer:
The issue is what memory configurations are allowed by your system. This is typically surrounded by the owners manual, which is where on earth I found this answer. Sometimes, you can only install matched sets of memory (so, count a single 512MB module is not helping, as you'd have to remove both 256's to install it).
In your skin, the documentation is not conclusive on the matched set question, but does speak you can install just one SODIMM module. So, which is relatively typical of consumer computers, you SHOULD be able to mix and meeting.
It probably won't matter which one you remove, although I'd tend to put the larger one contained by the first slot (which is slot A on your computer).

The computer has two memory slots, DIMM A and DIMM B, both located on the bottom of the
computer underneath the memory module/Mini PCI cover. DIMM A holds the basic memory module as
configured from the factory. If you did not direct additional memory, DIMM B will be not taken. Generally, if
you are adding memory, you will install a memory module surrounded by DIMM B. If you are upgrading memory, you
may need to install memory within DIMM A and B depending on the extent of the upgrade.
