What kindly of ports does a laptop call for to connect a mouse and speakers?

I'm looking into buying a laptop and I'd similar to to connect a mouse to it, and speakers. What ports should I make sure the laptop have before buying it so I can use a mouse and hook up speakers to it?
Thanks!

Answer:
"usb" ports :)
A exotic laptop will have the dexterity for both of these.

For speakers you need a nouns card, which is integrated in most laptops

For a mouse you have need of either a PS/2 or USB. Most are USB at present and the laptop should have those. It may even own PS/2 capabilities.

You enjoy nothing to verbs about, so newly buy what you want!

Good luck!
There are two ways to connect a mouse on today's machines. The standard way is a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port. Most laptops own these built in. The other passageway is a round (possibly purple) PS/2 port. The PS/2 Port is being phased out, since USB is hot-swappable (don't entail to reboot to add or remove a mouse) and faster.

Speakers - Normally a standard headphone jack will allow you to connect speakers. There are speakers that use USB, but they require a few extra pieces of software and can be more expensive.
