You can jump for Sony Viao but its costly, for 1000$ u'll have to cause compromises with Sony, I'd suggest going for something resembling Dell or you an even stick to HP, problems tend to occur next to everything also varying with the type of usage of a character, but usually HP delivers pretty polite performance.

Acer and Dell are both crap. Toshiba and HP are good machines. Hp is affordably priced, and resourcefully constucted.
