Yahoo technology have a guide for buying laptops and i agree with what it say. The bigger the screen the heavier the laptop. Get a multicore CPU, but avoid the extremely fastest and you'll save like mad of cash. Also, install as much RAM as you can afford. Have a look at the website it tell you the types of laptops theres weigh, portability, desktop replacement, entertainment, gaming etc...
I hope spelling is not a course requirement for you. I don't usually recommend buying a laptop off of illogical opinion close to this. You should do a great deal of reading first because you'll be stuck next to what you buy. We can't tell you one method or the other unless you list the system specs, there's similar to 9 million pavillion models.

i love my hp pavillion DV1000, wouldnt think twice almost buying another hp laptop. many of my friends loved my laptop so much that they bought pavillions contained by the DV series. as long as your laptop has going on for 1 gig of RAM (or more, even 2 would be amazing, but you would enjoy to upgrade yourself) and a 1.5 to 1.7 ghz processor (which helps reclaim battery existence by having a lower processing speed, but try not to dip lower than 1.5ghz) and next your computer will be as much computer as you will need conceivably even more
I've worked on many brands of computers for clients. I don't carefulness for HPs. I much prefer Dells -- reliability, support, etc.
For architecture work, I would recommend a laptop with a smaller 12-14" eyeshade for portability, and also get a colossal 19" or 20" LCD monitor for long work. Screen area is more critical than CPU speed I reflect.

You must spend your money for the best brand.
As I know HP and Dell are the best within laptops for a long time and they are very reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years in the past, and still like the daytime I bought it. Didn't even have to service it at tiniest once up to now.
I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.
