Should I acquire a Mac or Windows for college?
My mom thinks it would be unyielding for me to adapt next to a Mac in an almost Windows dominant university, so I don't know if that would be a factor or not.
Any suggestions or computer tips would be nice, I just want something that will be adjectives for me to use.

I won’t discourage you to buy an Apple computer, especially their notebooks, but I can explain to you why I would never buy an apple notebook, whether Macbook or Macbook Pro.
Let me introduce my personality to you:
1 I’m a gamer. I similar to to play the MOST intense games available out there. That’s only me, and Macs are no good at playing games. That’s one of my reason I am reluctant with a Mac.
2 My second drive is that the MacBook doesn’t have a storage slot for it. Unlike most PC laptops, the MacBook Pro lacks a built-in medium reader for flash memory cards, and there's no S-Video output or built-in modem--both of which the PowerBook had.
3 My third judgment is that I LOVE to connect my TV to my notebook. I have a 32' flat blind TV in my bedroom that I hook up to my Dell computer. With a Mac, as previously mentioned, I won’t be capable of connect a Mac to my TV because it doesn’t support S-Video output. On the Macbook, You won't find a media card reader, however, which have become a common element on many laptops. Unlike the MacBook Pro, there's no ExpressCard slot for adding up components later.
4 My fourth judgment is software deficiency. They’re not much software available for Macs...
5 My fifth rationale is that Mac doesn’t allow customers to build their notebook the way they want it. It’s approaching you go surrounded by to a restaurant and the waitress choose the food for you. You have to munch through what you get. The same is beside Mac, you have to buy what they hold out, already packed within the box and ready to ship to you.
6 My sixth cause is unreasonable price. I don’t know why people spend $2,799 for a notebook that they can hardly use. When you purchase Music video from Itunes, you can’t burn them to discs or use other program to play the Music files other than Apple’s specific software. Microsoft Windows medium player allows users to do whatever they will to do with their stuffs... I simply purchased a Music video sour Windows Media Player and burn it to a disc with relaxation.
7 People say Mac supports better illustrative card than windows Pcs, which is so ridiculous. How can Mac supports the MOST advanced pictographic card when they’re not any apt on gaming? PCs support the MOST powerful graphic card and CPU because they’re entertainment computers.
8 I must come clean that Mac computers, specifically their notebooks, are much more attractive than most notebook available out there, but you can obtain very attractive Sony notebook that some people believe are more attractive than Macs notebook. It’s all something like personal taste, in recent times as how I think the Dell XPS systems are the most attractive notebook out there.
9 Let us do some calculation: The Macbook pro is for $2,799 and lets assume it cannot find a virus. You pay $2,799 for a notebook newly because of viruses... Now, me as the smart one buy a Dell notebook for $1,299 and it is adjectives to viruses. I wage $59 for McAfee Internet security for five years, which would be $295. Add $295 to $1,299 which give you $1, 594. Yes, I am no longer vulnerable to virus once you have the Internet warranty suit installed on your computer. In fact, my likelihood are small just close to a Mac I have be using McAfee for 6 years and I am yet to confine a virus. See, I am free from viruses as far as I know. Anyway, agree to me see how much money I save. Subtract $1594 from $2,799 which give you $ 1,205. See, I saved $1, 205 dollars and can do deeply more things than you can with a Mac.... I can in a minute use the $1,205 to purchase some hot software, such as Office 2007, DVD burner software and MUCH more. Your Mac will mostly last for approximately 5 years purely like any other notebook. This is just an assumption though, because my friend’s Dell notebook is very soon 8 years old and still running approaching brand new.
10 Mac can run Windows, but not as swiftly as Windows runs on a PC. Microsoft never made Windows to run better on a Mac. It cannot get any simpler than that. Sure it is cool to hold the ability to use two OS’s on one apparatus. But spending $2, 799, plus another $300 for Windows OS. to use two OS’s on one system ins clearly insane.
These are my reasons I wouldn’t buy a Mac. You may own a different point of view. I am simply describing you why I would never buy a Mac.
There is nothing a Mac can do that a Pc cannot do, aside from human being able to use two OS's at once, but window people DON"T want Mac's OS. But of course Mac users stipulation Windows OS, and that is why Mac create their computers to use Windows OS.

Mac--save you hassles.
Mac adjectives the way. My sister get her first mac this year for college and loved it. She also says that it is so much easier to register next to a Mac than a windows computer.
If you want software that works and is adjectives ...you'll stick with a PC. If you want to be stuck beside having to use nil but Mac software, then trying to convert documents so a PC can read them... later go next to a Mac.
Either machine will work, the difference between them is software, its availability and cost.
Get anything the cheapest hardware is and put Linux on it :)
You will need a Mac. End of discussion. No pretext to prolong the reason you inevitability a Mac. Mac is for college students. That's all to it.
The merely reason I get a mac laptop was for Logic Pro and the certainty that it can't run any games to distract me. But then again I'm an audio/music professional.
That man said, my macbook is quite awesome, and in good health worth the money and even the annoyance that it isolates me from other user out there, even other macs.
Yeah, and the one-button mouse is pretty cowardly. Ugh.
Chances are, the computer labs at a college have PC's - so that should factor into your declaration. Mac-bigots (and that is not a derogatory label) will other suggest Macs, without taking into consideration other relevant factor. Nothing against Macs, but both in college, and when you bring back into the real world - what is used? PC or Mac?? GL!
Well the amount of money your inclined to spend has a huge part of the pack in making this tough edict.
Windows notebooks are pretty right now a days as long as you bring a dual-core processor (Intel or AMD) with atleast 1 see of ram. With those stats almost anything is possible. Good dual core laptops run more or less $800 and up. THE HUGE DRAWBACK with going window is the operating system. Windows Vista will come on EVERY store bought laptop. The big issue with Vista is compatibility. There is closely of software and hardware that just wont work on vista (yet!!). The first service pack is suppose to come out latter this month. This is "SUPPOSE" to solve a bunch of compatabillity issues, collateral problems, and other bugs. Overall Vista is really not all that discouraging. It has a pretty interesting interface. And it organize your files a lot better afterwards XP (Tooks a page of MAC's OS). It might take some time of getting use to, but pretty soon Vista will be the most dominant OS out here.
Oh and just remember, you can other uninstall vista and if u have a XP disk you can basically put XP on ur laptop.

By far more stable, safer, easier to use then PCs. Macs lately tend to run a lot better and smoother. Its first and foremost because the operating system is just so much better later anything windows have ever made. Macs have their own word processing program, that can also work next to Microsoft Word (since u said ur going to a Windows dominated school, WHat ever that ability, u will be able to rescue ur documents in a word file) MACs are a bit more pricy, but they are worth every penny, its a worth while investment.
OH, if u plan on majoring surrounded by computer science, computer networking, or anything dealing next to computers, u probably want a windows laptop. Just beacuse most professors (including mine) dont work sour of Macs they just use window.
