Computer suddenly Shuts down. Help.?
I'm having a problem next to my Laptop, its an IBM T20 P3 600MHZ, i know its not new but it's still working fine for me, Though i get a new Laptop and a Desktop comp, i still use this one..
Then freshly last week, my Laptop suddenly shuts down by itself, at first i thought it be just something i should not be worried around, but it keeps going on and on until i cant even turn it on, I next sent it to the Shop for repair, i thought it was purely all in the order of overheating, but i have reason to believe that its more than that coz the Tech did clean it, they even changed the lover with a NEW one (Fresh from Lenovo),
I still experience equal problem but now, solitary when i try to open Programs, such as Adobe, and other kinda mid-heavy application, I'm only wondering whats causing this problem? let somebody know me all the possibilities and dispense me suggestion, crash away the OVERHEAT thing, coz i describe you my computer is not hot when it turn itself off, it get a new lover and a cooling pad, Help me.
Answer:
cross-question: when you say shutdown, do you be set to the machine a moment ago powers off, close to pressing the power button, or does it initiate
shutdown sequence. If it is initiating the shutdown sequence, go to START - RUN - and type shutdown -a (to abort the shutdown. If this works, next its probably a virus, if not, after its definitely hardware, possible motherboards. The thinkpads are tricky to debug. You may try posting on an IBM thinkpad forum, others may enjoy had your issue. I have two thinkpads that were shutting down and it be never resolved, i trashed them and bought a dell.
the battery could be low. my friend have this problem and every time they turned the laptop on...it turned off but they fixed it. unwell ask him what he did to make it work and receive back to ya.
im of late guessing but maybe because the unsullied programs require much larger memory to process...i guess your old laptop cant manipulate it..maybe it freshly has a lower memory dimensions..maybe you should upgrade the memory?
hold you ran anti virus on it. could be a trojan
Could be you want to flash your BIOS. You could have power managment misconfiguration surrounded by it triggered by data corruption. I would find your most recent firmware version from your entrepreneur and update it.
Also check your windows power sceme settings. You might a short time ago have desperate configuration here. Go to Start menu > Settings > Control panel > Power options. In power option you can setup when your pc decide to power down and for what reasons.
