Difference between Dell XPS M1710 and HP Pavillion DV9000t?
Answer:
I would be interested to know as in good health. On HP's website you can configure\customize the HP DV9000T to be everything the XPS is except for the graphics card (you can specify 512mb but only for the NVIDIA 7600 while the XPS is 7950). I am wondering if it is a motherboard difference or some other non-specified item (like CORSAIR Ram within the XPS but not in the HP).
Well, the first difference I thought is that the Dell has the Core Duo at 2.16Ghz and the HP have the Core 2 Duo at 2.0Ghz.
The Core 2 Duo is a 64bit processor with twice the cache memory of the 32bit Core Duo that is to say in the Dell. Even though the Dell's processor is clocked faster, the HP's processor will out achieve it.
They both have 2 gigs of DDR2 push.
The monitors are equal in size.
Same firm drive size.
The difference between the Go7950GTX and the Go7600 (Which is actually a 256Mb card, NOT 512Mb.) is going to be relatively big, but it most certainly does not assert a $1000 difference.
I would say that the certainty that the Dell has the XPS moniker have much to do with the price difference.
But, the Dell does come near a longer limited warranty than HP.
