Macs not solely have adjectives the windows organization software available for the OS X, but they can also boot a copy of the Microsoft Windows OS.
Short answer, YES. The windows programs really work very well on the macs, especially if you are only/mostly interested in word/ppt/excel.
PS: I own a PC, and love it, but I'd still recommend a mac.

Yup. I have a MacBook next to Office for Mac and everything works great. Granted, since its not native software it runs for a while slower, but the security and stabilty of the Mac OS more than make up for it.
It really depends on your budget. Macs are better computers but even with window I still feel they constraint what you can do. If you have the financial fitness to afford a Mac then dance for it. If not then gain a good PC.
I owned, within the old days, the Apple III, later a Mac and now I hold an IBM and HP laptop.
I'll never return to Mac, I love my IBM and HP.

You can run some windows programs on macs, but you enjoy to install a program to let you do it.
They already engender a version of Word for Mac though. If you are a moment ago using it for word processing, video, music, internet, and e-mail then the mac is great, though for a time pricy.
If you want to be able to reliably use the thousands of programs available for window, i'd get a dell. They even hold them with AMD processors presently, which brings their already low prices down even more.
It depends on your degree--If it's more of a business or science oriented level a ibm compatibal will be better. You will still be able to do itunes near it with constant programs and there are photo studios and movie players available. If you are involved near a fine arts program then I would definatly shift with the mac, which seem to be superior with graphics and music, but tend to be a little more pricey.
depending on your wishes, i have experienced that pc's are much easier to do business with when it comes to repairs and that sort, but macs are fun on the medium side of the house, music, movies, etc. if you have an ipod, and love it, likelihood are youll love a mac. even though im not a big fan of apple, in attendance not a horrible choice for a college student laptop.
the only things macs do better than pc's is photo editing and movie making. as far as work for collage and esteemed stuff you will want a PC laptop. they are upgradable so you can put new parts within it if something were to break or become outdated. and they run window progams a whole hell of like mad better because thay RUN ON WINDOWS. so if you want to use the windows biusness pack approaching word ppt exel you will want a PC. Macs are overrated peices of trash that arent upgradable so you dont want one trust me it isnt worht it.

iphoto is fine. But- on window you can use (free) Picasa2. Even better I think. iTunes works seemlessly on both platforms. MS Office (word, excel, ppt) works fine on both platforms. You would necessitate to buy a program for the PC to duplicate imovie. If there's a comparable free one- I don't know of it.
You can run windows on a Mac but after you are opening yourself up to virus. Excellent computers though!
