We own have this laptop for just about a year and purely just now the Hard Drive is not registering. What do I do?
Answer:
I think you are referring to the disc (or DVD) rom drive.
If you cannot see the drive (probably Drive "D") in "My Computer, after you might try reseating it if it is removable.
Another troubleshooting fix would be to remove it from Device Manager and see if it comes back.
1. Right Click on "My Computer", choose Properties.
2. Click on the Hardware tab.
3. Click on Device Manager
4. Find DVD/CD-ROM drives and right click on it.
5. Choose "uninstall" and confirm removal.
6. Click on Actions at the top of the glass.
7. Choose Scan for hardware changes
8. If it comes pay for (after a few seconds), then you might want to try it again.
9. If it DOESN'T reinstall or comes backbone with a pallid exclamation point then you will most predictable to get it replaced.
Most optical drives are removable beside a release tab on the underside of the laptop.
If this does not work, it is more than likely late and you will have to gain it replaced.
I believe that you are referring to the optical or cd/dvd drive and not the hard drive. I don't realize what you mean by registering. Can it read a compact disc?
