is it finding your wireless lattice when you serach? are they both 802.11g or whatever you own?
USB Adapters for Ethernet are generally aren't any appropriate.
Have you installed all the right drivers for the USB Adapter ? except you will need to until that time it will work.
If it is a Wireless Router and it is a Wireless Adapter it could be that your USB Adapter is not strong enough to pick up the router.
Also you might find that you hold to configure the Adapter to find and connect to your router.
Try setting up your network lacking security settings ie. Do Not use passphrase or surety keys. When you gain it working properly, thenyou can turn on the security settings.
If you hold netgear router you need netgear adapter as in good health.
