i hold a headset from radioshack and it worked fine on our dell but then we took it away so we could plug our speakers within again and then i plugged it into my NEW laptop and it worked for for a while and now the mic on it genus of doesn't work any more. its weird for some explanation it detects sound but simply if i put the mic like almost contained by my mouth. thats the only process it detects sound. i checked everything its not muted, i reflect its set as the default device, and i know its contained by the right ports because there are solely two plugs a headphone and a mic jack and they are not in the wrong one's because i'm currently playing music and its working fine.

if you were listen to music to loud then you blew the speakers surrounded by it. and if you rapped the cord around it you might enjoy made a short in the flex someplace, so you can either try to fix it or you can basically buy some new ones
