How do I increase the brightness of my Windows Vista Laptop display?

I hold a HP Compaq nx6125 laptop. I just upgraded to Windows Vista. I love Vista but the blind has especially low brightness. I can't seem to increase or dwindling the brightness level. I enjoy tried pressing the function key together beside the brightness up and down keys, no luck. I also go to Windows Mobile Center utility in Vista, but it does not show the brightness horizontal changer. Please help.

Answer:
I own the exact same laptop with exactly like problem. Fn keys work to dim and brighten the display beforehand sleep. Upon waking from sleep, you are stuck surrounded by the dimmest mode.

I will try to see if there's a setting to change within order to bring it put money on to full brightness.
might be a vista compatibility issue. i used linux on my laptop for a while and it didn't allow use of the function keys. doesn`t matter what driver for the keyboard must not be vista compatable, or wants to be upgraded. try to update your keyboard drivers and power positive drivers
Depends on the type of laptop you have. Usually, you can press and hold the control push button, and then simultaneously press up and down on one of the function key to brighten and darken your display. For example, on my laptop, I press control and then F7 (in the top row of keys) to darken. I press control and F8 to brighten.
uhh..hold the function switch.(fn) and then move the arrow key up..and it will brighten
