Don't think right away that it is your graphics card. First check, is in that anything wrong with your display on your laptop, gist does your games look normal to you, any impossible glitches. If that isn't happening, afterwards most likely it is NOT your graphics card. What I devise the problem is, especially with noise and with the power cord, will be your power supply. Now I am pretty fitting with desktops but when it comes to laptops, I am not too suitable with the pricing on a power supply for a laptop. Make sure it is any one of those problems first. I do not suggest you mess with the laptop powersupply, I consider you should let a professional business with it "unless you are pretty right with computers". The pretext why I say this is, your computer might still be beneath warranty and the fact that laptops are compact at hand isn't enough space to work inside a laptop, you might break something. It should not be more than 100$ to obtain a new power supply and enjoy it installed.

Maybe your card runs at lower power when its running on battery power. Check it out contained by adapter settings in display properties.
When it change to full power, the fan turns on, possibly thats whats causing the boom.
Its could be the CPU fan too.
