Concealed laptops stolen from cars. Lithium battery baptism gadget is the create is proposal. True ?

In my city greatly of laptops are stolen from cars even though these laptops have be concealed under chairs, shopping items. Totally invisible - but thievies are able to identify cars next to these lap tops. And they are stolen. The view making its way around the city is that thievies own a sensor gadget that that identify lithium ion batteries and as a result can pinpoint devices that uses these battery be it phones or laptops. I'm no technical personality. But is there such a entry in this world. If so what can be done to blunt this ? Thanks.

Answer:
Completely and totally IMPOSSIBLE...

My dad works for The company that make the space shuttle main engines and i know a hell of deeply too....

1. If there be such a thing.... The cars battery-operated would be 1000 times more powerfull in electromagnetics than a laptop battery-operated.... so there is no means of access they could remotely sense a battery that size.

2. Have you ever thought that possibly they are breaking into so many cars that they find them by luck. Think for a second something like how many cars are stolen surrounded by a city every day. Now ruminate about how copious people enjoy laptops. I think that you are basically hearing more or less every person who get a laptop stolen from there motor and none of the people who hold thier cars stolen.
Well, kind of close to a metal detector, other elements, in guess could be searched for beside a pinpoint device, though I don't know if this is quite the luggage here; though it is possible.
Load up some cars with nought but a lithium battery lay around and see if the thieves break into those cars, if, there's something else about the laptop.
Many laptops in our time have a built-in GPS, and if the thieve managed to swot up locations of these laptops through the GPS, they could be stolen that way.
