My laptop has teo things you entail to plug in, the cable into the computor and next the shorter one into the power box thats on the lead, engender sure its all connected or ask the supplier if they can switch it for you.

Sounds approaching an input problem on the computer end. The computer is not detecting the mobile so either here is a software issue or an hardware issue with the nouns port. I highly doubt that the cable and or mobile are causing the problem. Check the cable for any breaks and such, but my guess it is a problem near the computer.
You can try removing the battery and making sure adjectives the contacts are clean. If that does not work, the cheapest experiment will be to get a clean chord. If the new chord does not solve the problem afterwards the battery more than possible needs replacing
It could be the plug, try buying a broad cord.
