How to obtain my laptop to not shutdown when i close the lid?

my computer is set up to shutdown when i close the lid. How do i translate it back to not shuting down when i close it?

Answer:
Assuming you're using window, do the following:

- Right-click on your desktop.
- Click Properties.
- Go to the Screen Saver tab.
- Click on 'Power...' by the bottom.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Adjust the settings however your heart desires.

right click on Desktop..Properties,Screen Saver,power management...

here you will seize your option.

if you hold windows try this:
right-click and select properties
consequently select the screen investor tab
next click the power button on the peak saver dialog box
the pane should now right to be heard: Power Options Properties
click the adavanced tab
then stir down to Power buttons
it should say, "when i close the lid of my portable computer""
from here click the arrow and select the option you want (i.e. stand by, or do nothing)
