How do I capture pay for my defaulting Gateway laptop the ivories alphabet values?

Since I hold hi -speed internet, my keyboard have changed to a numerical keypad on the right side. I went into troubleshooting on the control panel, but zilch was corrected. I enjoy Windows XP.
Could an electrical storm have cause this? I have turned stale the computor, but this did nothing any. Also, my mouse doesn't work anymore, even after installing new battery.

Somewhere on your computer keyboard is a push button labeled:

NUM LOCK

Press that key and your baby grand should function normally again.
