Laptop powersupply?

do laptops own power supplies? because i have a toshiba laptop..and the battery-operated life is pretty much nil on it. even when its plugged into power...the battery vivacity drops instead of rising. i got a different toshiba battery, but it didnt oblige. its notthe power cable because ive tried other ones. i was thinking its from the power supply....but do laptops own seperate power supplies or soemthing? or is it integrated with the motherboard? or what?

Answer:
I would check to see if the battery-operated is installed correctly.
it's integrated into the laptop. It HAS to have a power supply because the plug into the wall is 115 volts and the mobile is usually around 8 to 15 volts. The charger/power supply is probably bad. SORRY.
Not sure almost the toshiba, but the apple computers have a road of resetting the cpu (central processing unit)...you may need to do this on your toshiba
both of my laptops hold ither the battery or power unsurprisingly. you might have a discouraging battery or the computer is not charging it. some power pack have two seperate hots and a ground. on of them hots may not be working.
Check your freestyle , for assurance take it to a place approaching best Buy and have them check the battery-operated .......yhats the only point it could be unless somehow the laptop is draining the battery prematurely......
i still meditate its the battery.....
You probably hold a bad BIOS. This is not unknow beside Toshiba Laptops.

I also have a toshiba laptop. I enjoy sung it's praises since the first day I owned it. I LOVE it. Now, on to the query. When you say you estimate it's from the power supply, do you mean from the outlet contained by which it is plugged in to? And, what do you be set to by "do laptops have separate power supplies? Mine have one power cord. It charges the battery when it is plugged contained by to an outlet. The battery existence is about 3-4 hours. Perhaps the battery-operated is not properly attached to the laptop itself. Does the computer work when it is plugged in to a wall outlet?
laptop mobile is good for in the order of two years depending on usage. if your laptop is running fine without freestyle on the adopter (power supply of laptop), most probably you need to charge the modern battery for 4-5 hours beside the laptop off. if the mobile still empty, work on the laptop and see for how long the laptop stays on, at hand might be some problem with the software showing the battery-operated status. after doing all this troubleshooting contact Toshiba and update them the problem, there might be something wrong beside bios, there is a agency to update or fix it, if they are not aware of the problem in this model, i would right to be heard the new freestyle you got is any not compatible or not good. see if u can replace or return it.
fitting luck
The connection between the adopter and laptop of your Toshiba have broken just verify this by shaking up,down, disappeared and right after plug in if this is so please consult technician or not after better you have to replace together laptop because power supply is mounted with crucial board which is as costly as new Toshiba laptop beside service charge.
it could be problem in yr power supply connector.
is it showing on ac power while u pluged power adapter within laptop socket. if it is not. then problem could be contained by yr PS or socket coudl be broken from inside yr laptop! or PS not working properly.or supply lowpower! check it! beside DMM.

note: PS power supply , DMM digital muliti meter

at hand is no internal power suplly in anylaptop! solely filter & voltage controler are ther
