As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are enormously reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still close to the day I bought it. Didn't even hold to service it at least once up to in a minute.

Get an Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro. You can have the best of adjectives worlds. You get OS X, the worlds best operating system (well, that and Ubuntu) plus, if you really entail to, you can also run Windows on it too.
Get the Mac, you won't regret it.
if u get a macbook within are really no downs. it can run windows, it does not acquire viruses, adware, or spyware, and apple support is the best. they cost a bit more then other laptops, but its economically worth it. im sure sum windows fanboy is going to enunciate how macs suck and all that, but they are a markedly good pick.
u can have the best of both worlds near a mac. u wont regret getting one.
Get A Toshiba
Get the MacBook. You can get an entry stratum one for $999 at the Apple education store and they'll hand over you a free iPod Nano. The only downside is that near aren't as many games for a Mac, but you are supposed to be studying surrounded by college, right? They are wi-fi ready out of the box, you might want to put in Word or Open Office but all the rest of the software is included. You'll be smaller quantity stressed out since you won't have to buy an anti-virus program or download updates each day and run virus scans every hour.
