you should us the charger when you can, but the battery requests to be regularly charged and discharged to retain it's full strength. This is true of any of these ion/lithium batteries. So if it is not anyone used in a portable course then lift the charger off from time to time and consent to the battery run down.

hmm, in my experience (i've owned two iBook G3 and one iBook G4) keeping the computer plugged contained by is ok, but you'll slowly lose battery dimensions. or i should say, the batter won't second as long when you do have to unplug it. i'm not sure how much of that is to say the age of the battery and how much is due to it individual plugged in adjectives the time.

In fact it clearly states within the user documentation that keeping it on charge isn't a good thought.
The documentation says that you should
-charge it fully consequently unplug
-use it until the battery is essentially dead
-then fully charge
Keeping to this cycle will definetly maximize the mobile life (as contained by the whole of its existence - from packaging, to when its no longer holding power for more than 30 mins, ie surrounded by like 10 years)
