External monitor have blue tint when connected to presario V6000?

I own a compaq presario V6000. It has an external monitor port so I can plug within my 19 inch flat screen monitor. My problem is the external monitor keep getting a blue tint which makes it concrete to use the screen. The tint will sometimes flash on and afterwards off and sometimes will stay blue for days at a time.

The monitor and laptop are both rather new and I have been using the monitor for a few months formerly the problem started to occur. If I plug the monitor into another laptop or desktop it works fine. I hold contacted HP who said they had never hear of the problem befote and suggested re-installing the display drivers however I have tried this a few times beside older and newer drivers and the problem still persist.

Is there anyone who have either have this problem or has hear about it in the past and can make suggestions on how to fix it?

Answer:
This usually indicates that your cable have a short. try a different vga cable and it should work fine.
I would go into the video set up and brand sure it is correct for an external LCD. Usually they are for CRT's. Look on the monitor website to see if there is a problem reported near the IBM interface. Have you tried the laptop on another monitor of the same type? Is within a problem with the method the cable seats contained by the IBM connector? A ground or return lead will incentive this to happen. Look closely and see if an internal pin have recessed.
