Why will my laptop not preserve time. I hold a Sony VAIO?

pete is correct, the battery-operated powers your CMOS, which keeps time and date when the computer is shut down. Take it to your local geeksqaud or some computer place to hold them replace it..
there's a battery on the train your laptop (and any computer, for that matter). When your computer stops keeping time, it usually means that that battery-operated has run out and requests to be replaced.
