i hold a toshiba satellite pro 4600 which has window xp home basic. i used to be capable of play movies but now it say i need a decoder. why would this be? and if i hold to download a new one are at hand any free ones out there?

decoder is the software/hardware that let you play DVD, try to search for k-lite codec..its free and is exceptionally effective..you can also try downloading a player close to VLC..search for it online..
you a moment ago have to update your drivers. turn to toshiba website thats where they enjoy the drivers
