Gateway 6421 laptop have no nouns. downloaded diffferent drivers...still no nouns. lend a hand please?

Have you checked the obvious things? Like your volume control for the laptop? Try it at adjectives positions.
For Windows XP
Click START>Settings>Control panel>Sounds and Audio Devices.
Make sure your volume is set on HIGH, and is not muted.
Click on Speaker Volume, and make sure those are on HIGH as capably.
If that doesn't work...click on the Hardware Tab, and then choose your speaker device and click on troubleshoot.
IF adjectives else fails, bring it hindmost to the place you bought it and complain. If everything else is working software wise, it might be a discouraging sound card...or power supply problem etc.
