Is an ASUS a reliable brand for a laptop?

Answer:
Yes, but it is other a good notion to compare and read reviews at places like http://www.cnet.com

If you never owned a laptop in the past, you might get a fitting look at the weight, blind size and keyboard size of different models at a retail store. Also, because NEW flop rates can be HIGH, you should check to see what the RETURN policy is and WHO PAYS for shipping in the event of a irregularity or breakage. I always steer populace to good retailers resembling Costco and Staples to get a biddable price and/or great return policy. Here is the ORDER of preferance for me (at retail stores).
1. Toshiba
2. HP
3. Compaq
4. Acer

If you are NOT in a hurry, after spend the time to look for special closeout deals. I lately bought a Toshiba Satellite M105-S322 for $800 instead of the usual $1200. Other places sell this closeout model for $989.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
Asus make superb laptops. I've had mine since summer of '04 and I not long upgraded to Vista Ultimate. It flies!

I have all the same to come across a slow or poor built one. I will definitely buy another one within the future.
Check out my source, NBR. The posters give the impression of being to like the brand. I am skeptical. They do reviews of adjectives the models.
