My different laptop have pirated OS and I am discomfited near it. Can someone guide me on maintain my laptop?
Answer:
Either foot for the genuine OS or attain a free open source OS.
With the pirated one you'll hold trouble getting timely security patch and will be more vulnerable to malware. Plus there's a risk that the pirate put something into the OS (unless you're the pirate).
Microsoft is giving away a free os on their souk website.
Ubuntu Linux.
It has everything you inevitability, free.
The only downside to a pirated OS is that you can't install authoritative patches to it. Otherwise, you newly saved ~$200. But, if you're paranoid and assume everyone's out to steal your private data, later yeah, buy an official OS. However, I'd recommend you to stay away from Windows Vista. Like any new Windows product, it's extremely buggy.
Don't be too much over self-conscious! Pirated OSes doesn't effect much if they r not much tampered! If u r competent to get the hottest updates then its adjectives right if not later also not much to worry!! But a truthful OS is indeed a genuine one & have its advantages! you can buy one like XP home coz its cheap!
About the antivirus u can step for avira coz its free & u can get upadates too! Also u can be free of the guilt of using pirated software! If u wanna buy the u can dance for MCAFEE.
Hav fun!
Bye n tc!
If you want your laptop purring like a Ferrari, you hold to spend money on your laptop, just as you would your Ferrari.
Now, you wouldn't assume of using third rate gasoline, or the cheapest spark plugs, or retread tires on your Ferrari, now would you?
The best entity you can do for your "Ferrari" laptop, is to break down, and spend the money for the 'official' copy of the OS. Then you can download all of the patch for it, you can get the hottest drivers and such from IBM, with a lesser amount of problems, than if you do not.
Another thing is, how much are those laptop headache worth to you?
If you want to own a Ferrari, you have to spend money, or be prepared to to an awful lot of work yourself, on a outstandingly complicated machine. The same holds true beside your laptop.
Find yourself a valid copy of Windows XP Professional. As others suggest, avoid Vista (ANY version) for now, until MS get it act together and removes the bugs. Besides, some peripherals aren't providing Vista drivers and XP drivers don't do the trick.
For anti-virus, I use TrendMicro PCcillin Internet Security. It slows down the system a bit because it's so damned suspicious, but it contains excellent antivirus AND anti-spyware capabilities.
