Are Dell laptops as cheap as they are inexpensive?

I hatred my Dell Computer and spend 90% of the time on my Laptop which is a Toshiba Satellite A105. I love it except for the Battery Life which I plan on rectifying.
Oh yeah. Got a box of them not far from me, dismantled. Get a dell laptap every other week to fix. Trash.
I dont see copious other ones really, I hear toshiba are pretty decent and inexpensive.
I've get a brand new Dell laptop next to a dual core 64 bit AMD turion processor, 1gig ram, 80gig unyielding drive, 256 meg ATI vid card, a 15" screen, and a few other bells and whistle.
It runs windows vista home premium close to a champ, and I mainly use it within my studio for running softsynth programs like arturias virtual minimoog, modular moog, and ARP2600, along next to some other sequencing programs like sonic foundries 'acid' 'sounforge' and 'vegas'.
The tool cost me about $850 next to a wireless router. I am still pretty much floored by it. I helped my dad pick out a Sony VAIO though i.e. pretty impressive too - it cost more or less $1000 with a dual core pentium and similar specs to mine (though it is still running XP) the eyeshade is a bit smaller, but he travels a lot for business, and needed something a tad more portable.
Dell get a bad rap - mostly due to their tech support. Though I own long held that if you have to name tech support, then you evidently couldn't figure it out yourself, and so b**ching that someone can't relief you over the phone is kind of retarted. Most 'computer problems' in reality occur between the bench and the keyboard if you seize my drift.

Nope. I've be using a DELL Inspiron laptop for more than a yer, and it's just great. Definitely worth the money.
Compared to other laptops, they are attraction for money.The first poster is right.If i could afford one id run for Toshiba..HP's are too expensive.Compaqs too slow. Acer's = cheap build.LG and Asus - cheaper end of the laptop flea market.
dell sistem is to make money and bild the laptops next to cheap hardware ...if you look at the hardware inside the laptop you will see .. ;)
